The short version
- DrugAlt has no ads and never sells or rents information about you. Drug makers and pharmacies don’t pay us, and we don’t share anything with them.
- If you just use drugalt.com, you get no cookies, and we don’t keep your IP address.
- DrugAlt Pro keeps your email, your header, your list of medicines and your plan, and nothing about patients.
When you use drugalt.com
To learn what people look for and make the site better, DrugAlt counts:
- the pages you open, what you type in the search box and which result you pick;
- on a drug page, which option you look at, which sections you scroll to, and links you follow to a pharmacy, a drug maker or a clinic;
- the website that linked you here, whether you’re on a phone, tablet or computer, and the page’s language;
- your country and state, from our hosting provider’s location for the visit.
We don’t use cookies for this, and we don’t store your IP address. Each visit is counted under a code made from your IP address and browser with a secret that changes every day and is then deleted, so we can count visitors per day but can’t follow anyone from one day to the next, or tell who they are. These records stay with DrugAlt, aren’t shared or sold, and are deleted after two years. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted at all.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles every visit to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. It sees your IP address to do that, under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views and how fast pages load for us, without cookies.
When you use DrugAlt Pro
- Your account: your email address, and the name and phone number you give when you sign up. Sign-in is run by Clerk, which keeps your sign-in details. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name and email.
- What you save: your header (such as a clinic’s name, phone, address, website and a note), your list of medicines, and your plan.
- Payments: Stripe takes your card and sends receipts. We never see your card number. We keep Stripe’s customer and subscription numbers, to know your plan.
- Staying signed in: once you sign in, DrugAlt sets two cookies so the site knows it’s you, and Clerk sets its own. Clerk’s code runs only on the sign-in page and your dashboard, never on drug pages.
We use this only to run DrugAlt Pro for you: to show your list, print your handouts, and manage your plan. We email you only about your account, never marketing, unless you ask for it.
The few people who run DrugAlt (its admins) can see your name, email, plan, and when you joined and last signed in, to run the service. Admin pages don’t show your medicine list or header.
No patient information. DrugAlt Pro has no place to type a patient’s name. Each handout has a line to write it by hand. Please don’t put patients’ names or health details in your header or note.
Medicine lists and health information
A list of medicines you take, or that someone you care for takes, can be health information under some state laws, such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act. We collect it only because you save it, and only to provide what you asked for: your list and your printouts. We don’t sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to guess anything about you. The companies that host and run DrugAlt for us (Cloudflare, Clerk and Stripe) handle it only to provide their service. You can see your list anytime in your dashboard, change it, or ask us to delete it.
Your choices
- Email [email protected] to get a copy of what we keep about you, correct it, or delete your account. We answer within 30 days. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.
- We’ll share information only if the law requires it, or to protect DrugAlt or its users from fraud or harm. If DrugAlt is ever sold, this policy goes with it, and we’ll tell Pro members before anything about their accounts changes.
- DrugAlt is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect anything from children under 13.
Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and its date, and email Pro members before a change that affects them. Questions? [email protected].
