Brand nameNo maker’s card

We didn’t find a savings card or cash price from Hibsago’s maker. Ask the pharmacy for Hibsago’s cash price. With insurance, ask what your plan charges.

Authorized genericNot sold

There isn’t one. An authorized generic is Hibsago itself, from the same company, sold without the brand name, and usually for less. For now Hibsago is the only choice; ask the pharmacy for its cash price, or your plan what it charges.

Regular genericNot sold

We didn’t find one. Generics usually come once the brand’s patents and exclusivity end. Until then, ask the pharmacy for Hibsago’s cash price, or your plan what it charges.

What it’s used for

In the words of its FDA label:

HIBSAGO is a hepatitis B virus (HBV) mRNA-directed antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) indicated in combination with nucleos(t)ide analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NrtI) therapy for treatment of chronic HBV infection in adult patients without cirrhosis:

  • who have been on NrtI therapy for at least 6 months and have suppressed HBV deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and
  • who have HBV surface antigen (HBsAg) levels less than or equal to 3,000 IU/mL as determined by an FDA-authorized test.
